Oscars!!

Dear Readers,
Another award season has seem to gone by as fast as it arrived. All the awards have been given out, all the tears cried, and all the speeches said. Don't be too sad because even though the award season is over, there's always fashion. Yes, fashion always seems to fill that huge void inside, well for me at least. All jokes aside, despite another award season down the drain, we still always have fashion. With that said let's talk about fashion at the Oscars this past Sunday night. What, don't pretend that's the only reason you tune into the Oscars. That and watching the hilarious "thank you" speeches. Melissa Leo anyone? So I've listed a couple of stars who I think did justice at the Oscars on Sunday. As usual, I don't post the misses because I feel I can get a little mean. I should post it on another blog, one specified for hideous outfits stars manage to leave the house wearing. Sort of like a Rotten Tomatoes thing. Hmm, we'll see. Anyways lets just focus on the good right now instead of the bad.

1. Anne Hathaway
If you tuned into the Oscars on Sunday, you know that just that name, is enough said. Annie looked stunning in every single one of the dresses she wore last night and she wore a lot. My favorite though would have to be the gorgeous red Valentino gown she wore when she arrived at the Oscars. Red was a big color trend last night at the Oscars and I can't imagine why not. The color itself is simply breathtaking and always a hit in my book. Of course when you wear it head to toe, that's a completely different story. Anyways, the girl looked amazing and I loved the little rose details at the trim of the dress. That made the dress even more beautiful. Mr. Valentino knows his stuff. Everything about Annie's look that night was perfect. There wasn't one bad thing about any of her looks. This star is always head to toe perfect when she leaves the house and she should be. She's got the Rachel Zoe to style her, another fashion icon but we'll save her for another time.

2. Halle Berry
I adored the gown Halle was wearing on Sunday. The pastel Marchesa gown looked absolutely divine Miss Berry. There was also a ton of pastel colors on the red carpet on Sunday and Berry was key with that trend. I loved how she kept it very simple with the jewelry, stunning. The color goes really well with her skin tone and the silhouette compliments her figure. Not only is the color of the dress beautiful but the detailing is as equally beautiful. The train of the dress is very unique and elegantly made. Marchesa is one of my favorite designers and I love how all the dress are simply alluring. Halle made the right decision to go with one of their dresses. She knows what looks good on her and it pays off because she looked incredibly lovely last night!

3. Gwyneth Paltrow
This is a girl who knows her way around the best dressed list by heart. She's constantly on them and I'm pretty sure will remain to do so. Sunday was no exception for the isanely gorgeous blonde. She made her way onto the red carpet with a gold exquisite Calvin Klein gown. The dress reminded me of something Cleopatra would wear, it was very Egyptian inspired. As soon as she stepped foot onto the red carpet, the air in my entire body was sucked out, it was that good. She looked amazing! Everything was on key, the jewlery, hair, and make-up. It was all perfect. Once again Mrs. Paltrow knows how to turn heads and take breathes away when it comes to fashion.

4. Reese Witherspoon
I adored Reese's simple black Giorgio Armani PrivĂ© gown. The whole ensemble screamed Audrey Hepburn. Her hair, make-up and subtle jewelry complimented this dress beautifully. I think the dress was perfect for her. Black and white is very in right now. I loved white silk band at the top of the gown and the small train of the dress just perfect. Most people would find this dress to be boring and simple but I find it to be classic and elegant. I loved the whole look and think she made the right choice to go with.

5. Natalie Portman
This girl can do no wrong. She's proven that just because she's pregnant, she can still pull off any look and she looks fabulous while doing it. The Academy Award winner wore a Rodarte violet silk gown that was drenched in Swarovski crystals. She finished off the look with Jimmy Choo heels and Tiffany&Co. jewlery. She was glowing from head to toe and I doubt it was because of her being pregant. The girl is on fire right now and after winning numerous awards for her role in The Black Swan, she doesn't to appear to be stopping anytime soon. Her look on Sunday was absolutely classic and I can't wait to see what she'll do next!

6. Hailee Steinfeld
This 14-year-old has been killing it on the red carpet lately. On Sunday she looked like a little princess in another Marchesa pastel gown. The ankle length dress is perfect for Hailee. Usually you see younger stars trying to pull of an older look. It's refreshing to have a star act her age. I loved the sheer jewel in-crested top and also how it poofs out on the bottom. The detailing is gorgeous as well. Everything about her look is adorable. Her make-up isn't too much, her hair is just right, and her jewelry is the right amount. She pulled this look off perfectly.

It Girl!

Dear Readers,
So yet another week has gone by as quickly as it started and with that, it means we have a new "It Girl". I'm sure you're all aware who Ms. Rachel Bilson is. Well if you're not familiar with the star/ fashion icon then you need to get educated fast. It's no secret that Bilson has been a style icon for sometime now. She's on every best dressed list and almost every fashion magazine is always doing a story on her. The girl seems to have made her way in the fashion world but if you knew who she was, you'd already knew that. Every time she walks out of the house, she's never seen in anything hideous. Not to mention she's dating one of the most gorgeous men in Hollywood, Mr. Hayden Christiansen. It seems this girl has absolutely no troubles to worry about, she's got it all! I predict big things happening for her, maybe a fashion line in the works? Oh my lord, that would be a dream come true and I know I wouldn't mind wearing a an outfit designed by Ms. Bilson herself, who wouldn't?

No leg work required!

Dear Readers,
Spring is almost in the air and with that brings new trends and styles! Skirts. When the very word comes to mind you think mini. Well get that visualization out of your head because there's a brand new trend in town. I'm talking about the "long skirt". Short skirts were replaced by long versions at this years Spring/Summer fashion shows. Every designer from Jil Sander to Diane Von Furstenburg had models strutting down the runway in blowy and sheer long skirts and why not? The trend is incredibly genius. When most  girls wardrobes consists of short dresses and short shorts, it seems a trend has arrived that requires no leg work at all. To be honest, I've always loved to idea of a cute maxi skirt. The way it falls on the body and not mention how extremely comfy they are. There are so many varieties of maxi skirts and so many ways to wear them you're left wondering why someone hadn't brought on this trend sooner. I have this gorgeous vintage glittery one that I wear with a sheer white tank and a black leather jacket with the sleeves pushed up. Fashion is always ever changing that it's hard to know what's in and what's out but hopefully this trend stays around long enough. What, a girl can dream right?

Feeling Inspired!

It Girl!

Dear Readers,
Models. Just the very word is enough to make any girl cringe. With their long legs and lean figures, a model is every girls nightmare. But you have to admit, being a model has it's perks and they're almost always on a best dressed list. So that's why I've decided to choose one for this weeks "It Girl". Whenever I take a look at this certain model, she always looks amazing. I'm talking about non other than Miss Chanel Iman. With one of the most envious names in the business, Miss Iman is well on her way to becoming a style icon, if she isn't already. With her flawless skin tone and amazing figure, what's not to be envious about? I've been completely jealous of every single outfit she's worn and why wouldn't I be? Whether it's her wearing Alexander McQueen or even the gorgeous creations of Coco Chanel herself, this model has proved that not only does she have a beautiful face. She's got amazing style as well. It looks like Iman plans to be in business for a very long time and I look forward to seeing what she'll be wearing along the way!

Grammy's!!

Dear Readers,
Happy Valentines Day! I have no idea on earth why I put an exclamation mark at the end of that first sentence. For me Valentines Day is literally the worst day of the year. It's not that I haven't had Valentines, I just don't see the point in the day. Why should there be only one day when we celebrate being in love? I just think it's a way for candy companies and flower shops to make money. Not to mention Hallmark gets a huge audience during this time of year. Why not tell that special person you love them all the time? Plus, what about the people who aren't in love and don't have valentines, what about them? I just think Valentines Day is a waste of time not to mention it singles out the lonely hearts and yes, I'm one of them. I cannot tell you how bad it feels walking around the mall with my hands full of shopping bags when everyone else's are full with roses and candy. Fingers crossed that by next year, I'll have an Ian Somerhalder look alike to be my Valentine. Anyways, Valentines Day isn't the subject of todays post. I'd just thought I'd get what's on my mind out. The subject of this post is all about fashion, what else? And when I say fashion, I'm talking about the Grammy's. Yes, I'm doing a post solely dedicated to Grammy Fashion! Now I have to make a little confession, I didn't actually watch the Grammy's on Sunday night. Now, it wasn't because I didn't want to because I watch them every year. It's just that this year I went out to dinner with a couple of friends and totally forgot that the Grammy's were on. I felt horrible because I'm usually pretty good about TiVoing my shows. I guess I'e just been super busy and stressed lately but that's for another post entirely. So when I found out that missed the Grammy's, I immediately searched online for who wore what. What came up was a whole lot of good and a whole lot of bad but as usual, I'm only going to post the good. People out there who wore bad at the Grammy's, you know who you are. Hope you enjoy!

1. Miley Cyrus
Now this is a name that hasn't been on a best dressed list in a while but it looks like Miley is making a
comeback. She looked stunning in a floor length Roberto Cavalli gown. Metallic was seen a lot on the red carpet at this years Grammy's and I'm sure the trend is here to stay. Everything was on point with Miley's look. Her hair, make-up and jewelry were perfect. Hopefully she keeps this up because I honestly do not like seeing the girl in torn clothes and cleavage bearing outfits.

2. Heidi Klum
Now this is a name that always appears on a best dressed list and this time is not different. Hedi looked absolutely timeless in a golden Julien Macdonald gown. The dress reminded me of something right out of the 30's, it was simply gorgeous. Everytime I see Hedi she always looks fabulous, who knows, maybe she'll be this weeks "It Girl".

3. Eva Longoria
Oh my GAWD! I adored this look on Eva. She is definitely not letting a divorce get her down. This was definitely one of y favorite looks of the night. She looks fresh and chic in the Ashi Studio dress then again Eva always looks fresh and chic. The ruffles on the top of the dress is what caught my eye. It's so unique and simple at the same time. I don't think I've ever seen her in a horrible outfit. Okay that's a lie, flash back to 2001, I think you might find some unattractive looks. Who cares though, the girl is looking fabulous now and I think that we're going to see a lot of that now that she's single.

4.Selena Gomez
This young Disney starlet looked utterly breath taking in a J Mendel gown. The dress is simple but also beautiful as well. I loved how she decided to keep her hair long in waves and her make-up natural. She looked beautiful. Also, is it just me or does she sort of look a little like Kim Kardashian here? Thoughts?

5.Keri Hilson
I adored the blue Basil Soda dress Keri wore on Sunday. I loved how vibrant the color looked on her. It's such a beautiful color and it really goes well with her skin tone. Also, the detailing of the dress was so interesting and fun, I loved it. Not everyone decided to go with a short gown but Keri proved that no matter the length of the dress, you'll always look fabulous. Yes, I just rhymed. Regardless of my Dr. Suess moment, the girl looked incredible and there's no better way to put it.

6. Leann Rimes
Now despite what I think of the woman, she can dress. There was a lot of 70's glam on the red carpet Sunday night and Miss Rimes decided to follow that trend in a metallic Reem Acra gown. The dress is very loose fitted but it's also has a beautiful silhouette. The look is very elegant and classic which is why I loved it. Her make-up and everything else is on key, loved it all.

It Girl

Dear Readers,
This weeks "It Girl" is non other than the beautiful Miss Natalie Portman. Whenever I glimpse at recent picture of Miss Portman, she always looks fabulous. Not to mention elegant, classy, and timeless. Plus with a new Golden Globe, an Oscar Nomination and a new ad campaign for Dior, she's seems to be on top of the world. With her winning smile and unbelievable talent, the girl can do no wrong in my book. Oh and did I mention that she knows how to rock a gown all the while being preggers? Portman has made her own in Hollywood whether it's acting or becoming a fashion icon. Which let's face it, she's well on her way of becoming. I cannot wait to witness more greatness from Natalie Portman, acting or fashion wise. I do know one thing though, I'm deffinetly setting my TiVo on Febuary 27th to see what Miss Portman will be wearing. I'm sure it will be something just as stunning as her previous outfits, fingers crossed!

California Girls

Dear Readers,
Recently I read an article in TeenVogue about East Coast fashion vs. West Coast fashion. Personally, I've been falling head over heels with the West Coast. Despite wanting to live nowhere else other than the East Coast, I've gotta go with West Coast's sense of style. They seem to have a very laid back, hippie vibe going on and that just makes my heart quicken. As much as I love to look put together and elegant at times, most of the time I just want to be comfortable and look chic at the same time. With East Coast fashion you can't really do that. Now I don't want to get anyone mad who lives in the East Coast because I watch Gossip Girl and I've got to say, East Coast has got it going on as well. It's just personally, I just dig the laid back vie a bit more. With bloggers like Rumi Neely and actresses like Miley Cyrus, it's hard to fall in love with the way West Coasters are dressing. My favorite West Coast fashionista would have to be non other than Miss Chanel Iman. A TeenVogue model who knows how to pull off the West Coast style just right. With her hippie inspired looks and vintage frocks, the girl has my approval %100 of the way! Now, for those of you who don't have a clue as to what it is to dress like a West Coaster, have no fear. A west Coaster likes to keep it simple but look chic at the same time. What with the scorching weather down there, you can basically throw on a white tank and some ripped up shorts and look effortlessly fashionable. Take a hint from Rumi Neely, fashintoast, the girl can do no wrong in my book. With her 70's inspired looks and unbelievable style, Miss Neely is the queen of California style done right. For top stores that specialize in the West Coast style try H&M, Forever21, Modcloth.com, and Topshop.com. All of those are sure to have what your looking for to pull off this incredible and chic style!
