It Girl!

It's probably safe to guess that Emma Watson has had the busiest year of all. Completing the beloved Harry Potter series, attending Brown U, and becoming the new face of Lancome. When does this girl find time to relax? Well, it seems this London beauty can add another item onto her resume, fashion icon. It's no secret that Emma has been a fashion for awhile. We've seen the pics of her roaming around London, at the Harry Potter premieres, or gracing some of the many fashion mags such as Vogue or Bazaar. Even with her daring, pixi hairdo, she seems to still have a hold on being one of Hollywood's top dressed actresses. Whether she's wearing a Burberry trench, a stylish mini, or a chic gown, this U.K native seems to have fashion all figured out.

Denim Galore

Denim Galore

Denim Galore by truffles featuring lightweight jeans
Ah yes, Denim. No wardrobe would be complete without a couple of these key pieces. Almost every person in the world has a favorite pair that they absolutely just can't live without. You know, that special pair that you find your hands reaching for every time you're planning a night out or even a night in. Whether your favorite pair happens to be a sophisticated flare or the classic skinny. Either way, I know you know what I'm talking about when it comes to jeans. But in order to fully grasp your head around the idea of denim you have the understand the language. So allow me to educate you in a little lesson I call, Denim 101. Now first thing's first, find out what works best for you. You see, what works for someone else might not exactly work for you.
Now don't panic because I'll admit, shopping for the perfect pair of jeans can be similar to figuring out which haircut to get. It's both exhausting and complicated but once you figure out what looks best on you and what you like then it should be pretty easy. When I shop for jeans the first thing I take into consideration it fit. Once you find a pair of jeans that both fit wonderfully and look as amazing, then you can pretty much assume that's the pair you'll never want to take off. People also tend to think that when it comes to denim it's all black and white without any room for a faded shade of grey. Well I'm here to tell you that, that is completely untrue. There are a wide range of style when it comes to jeans. Here are just a few that I'm utterly in love with at the moment.

1. Boyfriend. This style is my complete favorite. Not only are they incredibly comfortable but they're shockingly stylish. Who'd of guessed that something found in your hubby's closet might actually chic. That is unless your hubby happens to be non other than Chuck Bass, anything that dude wears is insanely fashionable. I'm a huge fan of menswear and being gangly growing up, I never did like clothes that were skin tight or form fitting. Maybe because there wasn't much for my clothes to hug. I was never one who possessed  curves such as those like Scarlett Johanson or Marylin Monore. Realizing I'd never be voluptuousness, I discovered there was a way I could actually look amazing in my clothes. Instead of buying clothes to fit my non existing curves, I'd buy clothes that gave the impression of curves. I then started buying clothes that fit loosely and in larger sizes. The outcome was pure genius. So you can imagine why this style of denim happens to be my favorite of all and will remain to be till the day I die, or at least till the day I suddenly wake up baring a body like Sophia Loren.

2. Flare. I have to admit that before I opened up the new issue of Vogue, I had said "so long" to my flare denim. Every time I think of flare denim the thought of my preppy, Abercrombie wearing, high school days comes to mind. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about allow me to fill you in. When I was in high school, flared, Abercrombie jeans were all I wore. That, along with a Abercrombie polo to match. You can pretty much sum the visual, not pretty. So when I discovered that flared jeans were actually a enormous trend come Fall, I was a little more than shocked. Then I opened up my Vogue and saw some of the examples and I had to admit, the trend was beginning to grow on me. When paired with a beautiful blouse, tucked into the jeans of course, the trend can actually be both feminine and quite classy. I had no idea why I hadn't thought about this first, after all, weren't the 70's all about the flare jeans? So now, with ultimate consideration, I've decided to give the style of flared denim a chance. The results of this decision, brilliance.

3. Skinny. The list of favorite denims wouldn't be complete without the classic skinny. This trend, to me, happens to be the sexiest of all five. There's something so sensual about slipping on a pair of form fitting "skinnie's". Despite what I said about form fitting clothing, skinny jeans are the only exception I make. Besides, when worn with sky high pumps, I almost feel comfortable about being gangly and feel as though I'm ready to walk a runway. Key word in that sentence, "almost". This trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere and hopefully it stays like that.

4. Pattern. Now this is a newer trend for me and when I say new, I mean I literally started wearing them a week ago. This trend is slowly becoming a favorite of mine and is close to pushing the "Boyfriend" style to the side. Okay, maybe not that close but you get my point. I'm a huge fan of edgy pieces and patterned denim definitely pushes the limits edgy.

5. Colored. I've never really been a huge fan of colored jeans but I will admit I do own a couple of pairs. Recently I was invited to attend a lunch with one of my girlfriends and I had the exact outfit in mind that I was going to wear and it happened to involve my fave skinny jeans. Well, when the actual day of the lunch came, my fave pair of skinny jeans just so happened to be sitting in a sad lump on top of my dirty pile. Of course I panicked because the only pair of jeans that weren't dirty was a pair of red skinny jeans that hung way in the back of my closet with the tag still in place. Suddenly, a vision flashed through my mind. I had decided to pair my new, unworn, red skinny jeans with a stripped tee finished off with a black blazer. The result, pure genius. Since that day, I've decided to reconsider the way I felt about colored denim. I also realized that blue jeans don't have to be, well, blue. Sometimes something unpredictable can turn out to be something glorious. Fashion doesn't always have to be predictable but that's what makes it fun. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and step out of your comfort zone when it comes to fashion. After all, playing it safe is so boring.

Hope this post inspired you all to come up with your own trends and remember, don't take fashion to seriously. Just keep in mind that when trying out trends, have fun. Figure out ways you can make the trend your own by adding some of your own flare to it. Hope you all have an amazing rest of the week and remember to stay safe.

My Must-Haves for Fall!

My Must-Haves for Fall

My Must-Haves for Fall by truffles featuring flat shoes

Hey Everyone!
Hope all of you had a great weekend! So I've gathered a couple of my must-haves for fall and I thought I would just explain why I cannot live without these items in Autumn.

1. Cardigans. Now when it get's a little chilly, I like to be as comfortable as I possibly can. That's why a cardigan is number one on my list. Cardigans are like the ultimate fall must-have. They're extremely comfy and effortlessly chic. Honestly, you can simply throw on a cardigan and some skinny jeans and you would most likely end up on a best dressed list. That's why I love them so much and that's why I can't live without them in fall. Now I don't actually own this specific cardigan but I picked it because I own one that looks exactly like it that I got at OldNavy for a better bargain. I absolutely love wearing the mustard in the fall, it just screams Autumn right? I also love when the cardigan is a bit big because it gives you more room to move around and it looks better, in my opinion. I don't really like wearing tight ones because it just looks weird and you want to be comfortable when it begins to get chilly. So that's why cardi's are my fave must-have for Autumn.

2. Leggings. I live in leggings when it begins to get cold. It's the oddest thing but I actually don't like wearing jeans in the winter for some reason. I guess I'm weird like that. So that's why leggings are my second must-have for fall. Whoever invented leggings are a friggin genius. Honestly, there the best invention in the fashion world. I especially love when I find a pair of leggings that have special details like lace, unique patterns and zippers. Now I will admit, I do actually own a pair of the leggings shown above. Let me explain why I would dare pay $90 on leggings. Now I love a bargain just as much as the next person but if there will be a rare occasion where I splurge on an item if it has amazing quality and detail. I purchased the pair above online and as soon as I saw them, I fell in love. Being someone who wears nothing else other than leggings during the winter, I thought it was worth the splurge. The detailing and feel of them is incredible. Plus, I wear them all the time so it's not like I spent all that money but barely wear them. Oh no! I broke those babies in minute the package arrived at my front door. Anyways, I'm rambling but that's basically why love leggings so much. You can pair them with a loose cardi or an over sized blouse. Their amazing that's why their number two on the list!

3. Flats. Just like leggings, I live in flats. Especially the ones pictured above. I actually got these as a birthday gift from my mom recently and haven't worn them yet. Their Michael Kors and their simply beautiful and classy. I haven't gotten a chance to wear them yet because it's been so hot lately and I prefer to wear flats when it get's a bit cooler but the moment the temperature drops, they're all I'll wear. I like flats because they instantly make any outfit look classic, especially if their ballet flats which happen to be my favorite.

4. Scarves. I like wearing scarves all year round so it's no surprise their listed in the list for my autumn must-haves. Like cardigans, scarves make any outfit look effortlessly chic. When it comes to wearing scarves in the fall, I like wearing bold colors such as  red, yellow and green. I don't like to match the scarf with the outfit I'm wearing. So if I'm wearing a red cardigan I'll pair it with a yellow or green scarf. I like being bold in fall so matching is pretty much out the window. Anyways, that's why scarfs are my must-have for fall.

5. Biker Jackets. There is a trend when it comes to the way I dress when it gets cold. Comfort and simplicity. When it begins to get chilly outside, I don't like over-thinking my outfits too much. I just like to be comfortable and chic at the same time. So it's no surprise that the cover up I chose happens to be a biker jacket. Biker jackets, are like every other item on this list, chic and simple. They are extremely classic with a bit of edge as well. I love pairing something sweet along with something edgy which is what I'd call my sense of style at the moment. Elegant with a touch of edge. When it comes to my main pieces like jackets, I love to splurge. I tend to save on accessories and t-shirts. This particular jacket is an item I do not own but I do own a Juicy Couture replica that cost half the price but was still pricey. Like I said earlier, I'll splurge on something that I'll know will last for at least five years and will always be in style. If I was to take a guess that biker jackets will still be in style come 2015, I'm pretty sure I'd be right. So that's why this particular piece a key element in my wardrobe come fall.

6. Messenger Bags. NOTE TO READER: I did not spend $1,500 on a purse, although I would for this particular purse. This purse is actually on my wishlist that I'm creating at the moment. It's a Mulberry which happens to be my favorite designer at the moment. Their bags are to die for and I'm hoping that a certain someone will get the hint come Christmas. I'm kidding, if anyone bought something for me that cost that much, I'd have to throw them off a cliff. Unless it happened to be a trip to Italy, then that would be a gift I'd have no problem accepting. Messenger bags have been gracing the runways for sometime now and happen to be everywhere at the moment. I prefer to buy my messenger bags at vintage and thrift stores because they tend to last longer and look better. Despite the fact that their used, vintage and thrift stores are the ultimate place to find messenger bags for cheap. They practically fill up the shelves. I guess people haven't opened up their Vogues or Bazaar's lately. I like messenger bags because as well as making any outfit exceptionally stylish, they tend to add a bit of vintage flare too. That's why I absolutely cannot live without them.

7. Ray-Bans. Ahh, yes, the classic Ray-Ban. Instantly add's a sense of cool to any outfit with the snap of a finger. Ray-Bans are another item I have no problem splurging on. I've actually bought one pair at a vintage place for $40 and the online at Ray-Ban.com for $125.  Both have been with me for awhile and still look brand new. Either way, Ray-Bans are the ultimate must-have for any season except winter. You could wear them in winter but I've never understood the reason for that. It just looks weird but then again, I was never one to discriminate against weird so if that's what you prefer, GO FOR IT! Either way, they're a must-have but if you can't get your hands on the actual Ray-Ban, replicas are just as fine. I've got several so it's not a crime.

8. Skinny Jeans. Like I said before, for some reason, I hate wearing jeans in the when it begins to get chilly but if I must, I love these. They'll set you back a lovely $175 but the quality is amazing and they feel exactly like leggings so they're incredibly comfy. I do like wearing jeans in autumn however though, it's the weirdest thing. Anyways, skinny jeans are amazing for any season but I especially love wearing them in autumn. Once again, another weird moment. Skinny jeans are another effortlessly item I love because like all the other pieces I've listed, they make any outfit instantly chic no matter what you pair them with.

I hope my must-have list inspired you to make one of your own. Feel free to leave comments on Twitter or here telling me what your key items are for fall, I'd love to hear from you! Hope you all have an amazing week and stay safe!

I close my eyes then re-open them to chaos.

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all had an amazing week. I know I said on Twitter that I was going to have a new, actual post today but due to some enlightened events, I thought I try something different. I'm sure all of you have heard the news about insane riots that have been going on in London. If you haven't then maybe it's time you turned of the Jersey Shore and turn on the news. It wasn't too long ago that I was blogging about the bombings in Norway, now I turn on CNN and there's a new story about riots being started in the U.K. It goes without saying that peace is a foreign thing at the moment but honestly, is it too much to ask to simply get along? I have said this way too many times which makes the situation even more depressing. It honestly breaks my heart to turn on the news and discover that somewhere else on the earth some country is at war or someone was murdered for no good reason. Some people find it easy to blame God when a crises arises which tends to piss me off even more. People act as if the actions they choose to do are simply not their own fault but someone else's. Oh sure, that makes perfect sense. God isn't the person we should be blaming. The people we should be blaming is ourselves. Okay, so maybe you weren't the one who started the riots in London or the bombings in Norway but that's not what I meant. I meant that maybe if we all tried to enforce a little something called peace, maybe things wouldn't be as bad. You may not know it but you have the power to actually change the world. Your actions have effects and if they're put to good use, then maybe we can all change the world. So instead of whining about how the world is so corrupt, do something about it. Now of course when I say do something about it I don't mean go out there and try to stop a serial killer or a terrorist. That stuff only works if you're Superman or Obama. You can however change the world in the smallest way, even if you think that, that small way is ridiculous, it actually helps. A great way to start helping would be to check out DoSomething.org. There you'll find amazing ways to help out and try to make the world a bit brighter. I've been familiar with DoSomething for almost three years and have joined numerous amounts of groups that specialize in  things such as Animal Welfare, Fighting Aides, Domestic Violence and World Peace to name a few. You can even start your own organization or group and help people in a more large way. But if you're no ready to make that big of a leap then feel free to make an account and browse instead. DoSomething is such an amazing website and so many famous charities have started out on there. This is in no way a promotional post and I'm not getting paid a penny to write this. DoSomething is a website I swear by and have been an active member on since 2009. I just feel that since the all these events have been happening, it wouldn't hurt to want to help. So if you want, you can check out the website by just clicking here or you if you know about another website that specializes in ways to help the world become a better place, feel free to send me an email or comment because I'm always looking for ways to help out. Some people collect buttons, I like to help. You can also check DoSomething out on their Twitter, @dosomething. Hope you all have an amazing weekend and feel free to send me your ideas on ways we can make the world a little bit brighter.

Happy 20th Sandra!!!

Yes, it has happened. That moment in life where you're are no longer a teenager but rather a full gown adult instead. As of 12:00 AM today, I am 20-years-old. I just want to take this time and thank everyone who took part in raising me and helping me get to this point in my life. I cannot believe I'm 20 today. It seems like just yesterday I was six-years-old playing dress up and pretending to be and adult. Now, I actually am one. It's insane, at least I have an excuse to eat as much cake as I want. Hope you all have a great weekend and stay safe!

A touch of elegance.

Hey Everyone!
Hope all of you have been having an amazing week so far. Just want to give you all a heads up that Saturday is my 20th birthday so if you haven't wished my Happy B-Day, now's the time. I'm kidding but it's just a little surreal. It seems as if time has gone by without me knowing and there's suddenly this adult looking back at me in the mirror. Truth be told, I doubt I'll ever consider myself an adult because of how childish I can be at times. The very idea of being and adult seems like such a foreign concept to me. Anyways, this post is not about me. It's about elegant couture. There's something to be said about a beautifully, tasteful piece of clothing. Gone are the days of trashy fishnet stockings and distaste full mini skirts. They've been replaced with ornate designs and classic silhouettes that Grace Kelly herself would die for. I don't that elegance has left the building entirely but in this day and age, it's hard to locate it. Elegance and class are the building  blocks to truly looking sexy. Some people tend to think that being sexy means wearing fewer fabric and showing much more skin. Preferably to the point where you can locate a certain body part that should be kept under wraps. Remember ladies, sexy not trashy. So I end this post with a question, when does sexy become trashy? Is there a limit? Okay, so maybe two questions but it places the thought in your head, is your sexy trashy?
