Heat Wave!!

Heat Wave!!

Heat Wave!! by ssalathe10 featuring stretch bracelets

Now, I love the hot weather just as much as anyone but when it comes to the point where you can't even breathe when you step outside, I put up my hands and surrender. Do to the extreme heat wave that's been sweeping the entire Midwest, I thought I'd share some of my favorite clothing I wear in order to stay cool. When you're dressing in the Summer, remember to wear light colored clothing and loose fabrics. Such as white, pastels and nudes. I love wearing a lot of cotton in the Summer because it doesn't tend stick to my body. Another big tip to remember in the Summer is to always drink plenty of water. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and remember to stay cool as much as possible!

#GivePeaceAChance

My prayers go out to anyone who was injured or hurt during the attacks on Norway. It is so sad when you turn on the T.V or log into your laptop and discover that something terrible has happened yet again. It seems no a days that, that's all we see on television. Gone are the days where people used to get along and unite together. Those days have been replaced with war and hate. It just honestly breaks my heart. Norway, my heart goes out to you and you'll be in my prayers tonight and every other. If you want to donate anything to Norway, you can visit RedCross.org and to read more about the attacks in Norway go to CNN.com

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all had an amazing week. Lately I've been feeling very excited for no particular reason. I usually get like that when something interesting is about to happen. In this case, nothing interesting is on my radar. I live a very boring life at times. So recently I was flipping through an issue of Harper's Bazaar when I came across the beautiful model Karlie Kloss in a cobalt blue dress. The dress was by Lanvin (one of favorite designers at the moment) and she looked absolutely stunning in it. The picture got me thinking about how much I've been seeing this color lately. It was featured in almost every runway show for Fall 11' and I just think the color is incredibly beautiful. It's an amazing hue that you can wear for fall and  carry into winter. It's an extremely powerful color, like red and has so much potential. It add's a pop of color to any outfit and can be worn in any way possible. From blazers to pumps, there's no doubting that this magnificent shade add's a bit of glamour and poise to almost any outfit as well. I'm honestly in love with it and as soon as I read the article in Bazaar, I dropped everything and headed straight to the mall. I might have came out of Pentagon City Mall with a breech in my spending limit for the month but it was so worth it. Because even if the color goes out of style, which I pray doesn't happen, I'll still be brave enough to leave the house in the color. And I'll rock it from head to stiletto. I hope you all have a great weekend and for ways to rock this color just check out my second blog, Fashion/Bubblegum ,they'll be something up there soon.

6. Peach Mary-Janes, $370, Vivian Westwood
I'm obsessed with this color right now and just wanted to show you that there are some really amazing, different ways to rock this it. Some people think that wearing peach makes you look a little bit like a granny. Honestly, the color is beautiful and I'm surprised that people are just now starting to realize it. It's a perfect color for summer and (in my opinion) compliments any skin tone. I like paring peach with pastels and nude colored clothing, as it should be in summer. It's a shame though that peach is only appropriate for summer because I would honestly wear it year round. Hope you all have an amazing week and a regular post will be up next week. Have fun and stay safe!

Classic is always in

Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a great week and continue to have a great weekend. Vintage has always been a favorite word of mine. Music, movies and above all else...clothes. So you can understand why I'm extremely excited about Coach bringing back their line of classic bags inspired by the 70's. Coach has been the number one leading brand for purses since I can remember and is preferred by woman all around the world. Whenever I see that their famous logo on a bag I get goose-bumps. Although I'm not a huge fan of their new logo, I still adore the brand regardless. The Classic Collection is mostly made up of beautiful, leather messenger bags in a variety of vivid colors (as seen on the right). I've always preferred Coach's vintage line and have four classic purses I got for an amazing price at a thrift shop. Imagine my surprise when I heard the brand was bringing back some of their classic pieces. It's also kind of bittersweet because it's as if the world is in on the same secret you've known about for years. Nevertheless, I'm thrilled about the comeback. You can find the classic collection at Coach store's worldwide!

OMG!!

Dear Readers,
If you your a fan of my blog you'd know that H&M is one of my favorite stores EVER! It has so much t offer without an enormous price tag to go along with it. With their collaboration with Lanvin back in Jan and their recent Fight Against Aids campaign, it seems H&M always has something exciting to offer. It seems that H&M has done it again. Versace has teemed up with H&M to collaborate a collection that will be debuting in November 2011. The collection will consist of dresses featuring studded leather, silk, and colorful prints. The accessories will consist of high heels and costume jewelry. Think Gaga meet's African Queen. If I was excited for Lanvin's collaboration than I'm ecstatic for Versace's. I'll honestly be camping out right in front of H&M on November 11th. You can find Versace's collection at H&M on November 11th in the U.S and January 21 worldwide.

Red Hot's

Dear Readers,
Let me just start this post off by saying Happy Fourth of July! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and continue to have a great week. Let me ask you a questions, who doesn't love a beautiful cherry lip? It's no secret that finishing off a look with a elegant, red lip is the key to perfecting any outfit but it seems the color red is even more chic on places other than our lips. There's no doubt that red has always been a statement color since the beginning of the fashion itself. The color red and the word sexy go together as well as Coco Chanel and pearls. Whenever you try on a piece of clothing that has even the smallest amount of the hue on it, it's almost impossible not to feel invincible. Well, it looks as if we're going to be seeing a lot more of this magnificent color around because it's one of the biggest trends of fall 2011. Now, I don't want to get into every, single trend that's going to be hot this season because summer just started. But I just wanted to write about one of the fall trends that's got me incredibly excited. The color has made numerous appearances at this year's fall show's and has been seen on runways raging everywhere from Gucci to Ferretti. I'm head over heels for this trend because I feel it adds a bit of empowerment to woman's clothing that we've have been seeing loads of already. Since it's not fall yet you can incorporate the color in your accessories. Such as a purse, shoes, or even a nice, red lip goes well. Whichever way you choose to broadcast this trend as a preview for autumn's coming attractions, I'm sure you'll have everyone as excited for this seasons looks as I am. Stay safe and fashionable!
xoxo
